Aaron Vogel
Effective Technology Program Specialist
Arizona Department of Education

Aaron Vogel currently serves as the Effective Technology Program Specialist at the Arizona Department of Education (ADE). His role at ADE includes reviewing Title IV-A Student Support & Academic Enrichment Grants and developing and providing professional learning and technical assistance opportunities for educational stakeholders across the State of Arizona.
Prior to joining the Title IV-A team at ADE, Aaron taught in the public schools in Arizona, Colorado and North Carolina, most recently as the Director of Bands at Mountain Ridge High School (AZ). Featured performances include the 2021 Midwest Clinic, the 2023, 2019 and 2012 Music for All National Festival, the 2014 Taoyuan Taiwan International Band Festival, the 2010 Western International Band Clinic, and the National and International Conferences for the International Trumpet Guild, the National Flute Association and the International Tuba and Euphonium Association. State Honor Performing Ensemble performances include the 2024 and 2020 Arizona Music Educators Conference and the 2012 and 2011 Colorado Music Educators Conference. Aaron’s marching ensembles have amassed six State Marching Band Championships in 2023, 2022, 2019, 2013, 2012 and 2009, with second place finishes in 2016, 2010, and 2008, and the Bands of America Class 4A Arizona Regional Championships in 2022.
Aaron is a sought-after adjudicator, clinician, and consultant for marching and concert ensembles in multiple states. He co-hosts a Podcast for the Arizona Marching Band Association called the “Copper State Marching Podcast,” has served as a conductor for the Phoenix Youth Symphony Orchestras, and on the brass staffs for Drum Corps International’s The Cadets, The Cavaliers and the Blue Knights. As a performer, he has experience in a wide range of ensembles including the Tony and Emmy award winning show “Blast!” in London’s West End, multiple professional and collegiate ensembles, the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps, and the “Stampede” for the NFL's Denver Broncos. He received a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Ithaca College, and a Masters in Music Education and Wind Conducting from the University of Colorado. He lives in Phoenix with his wife Becky, daughter Abigail and son Aiden.
