Suzanne Dell

Director of Bands
L.D. Bell High School, TX

Suzanne Dell began teaching at L.D. Bell High School in 2014 and was named Director of Bands there in 2021. Her responsibilities at Bell include conducting the Wind Symphony, co-conducting the Symphony Orchestra, and directing the award-winning Blue Raider Marching Band. During her time at Bell, the marching band has been a perennial finalist at Bands of America Regional and Super Regional competitions, The marching band has attended the UIL 6A State Marching Contest in 2022 and 2023. Concert ensembles under Mrs. Dell’s direction consistently earn high honors at UIL contests and other festivals. In 2022, the L.D. Bell Wind Symphony was a Featured Performer at the Music for All National Festival.

Suzanne received her Bachelor’s in Music Education from the University of North Texas and her Master’s in Conducting from Messiah College, studying with Dr Brad Genevro. Prior to her teaching at Bell, she taught in American Fork, UT at American Fork High School and Mountain Ridge Junior High and in Texas at Carroll Middle School in Southlake as well as Bedford Junior High.

Suzanne is an active clinician and adjudicator in both the concert and marching activities. She is also active in the Drum Corps International space, having been a member of the brass staff for the 21 time World Champion Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps since 2016.

Suzanne has been married to her husband, Nick, since 2000 and they are the proud parents of two sons, Jacob, a percussionist and Bell alum, and Jonathan, a horn player in the Bell Band.
